Blackboard 9.1 Faculty Support Plan

Phase 1: Beginning June 27, 2011
Bb 9.1 Test Server will be ready for faculty to access. 


One new test course site can be created per person upon request.
Blackboard hands-on sessions will be available for faculty who want to use Blackboard 9.1 in fall 2011 in the test environment.

[7/5 – 7/6]
[7/18 – 7/21]

During this phase faculty may import course from previous semesters into new Bb 9.1 platform test environment.

Separate hands-on sessions will be offered to experienced users and users new to Blackboard.
Hands-on sessions for experienced users will include importing courses from Blackboard 8.

Phase 2: Beginning August 1, 2011
Bb 9.1 system goes live and training workshops are available


Course shells for fall semester and accelerated fall I and II will be created in Bb 9.1, and full roster will be uploaded in Bb 9.1 as well.

Director of CTLT will assist faculty with transferring course materials from previous semesters.

Blackboard hands-on sessions for students and classes

[9/6 – 9/16]


Class /department -specific sessions available upon request

Phase 3: Beginning September 1, 2011
Open labs & special training sessions, and BB 9.1 continuous fine tuning 

Continuation of training sessions, plus Blackboard Open Lab sessions [10AM-12PM] three days per week in September.

Class /department -specific sessions available upon request 

Consultations with individual faculty/staff upon request


Phase 4: Beginning May 15, 2012--Transition into Blackboard 9.1


Blackboard 8 will phase out and all courses offered on Bb 9.1.

Assistance for Bb 8 users to transfer course materials to Bb 9.1 will continue to be available.
