Email is one of communication tools in Blackboard. You can send emails to fellow students enrolled in a course and the instructor using Blackboard’s E-mail feature. The advantage to use this feature is that you don't need to type recipient's email address. Note, you can only send email using this feature within Blackboard, but not receive email. You have to check your email accessing your college's email account. Emails sent from within Blackboard are releyed to your campus mail account via mail server.
Where Can I Find the Email Tool?
You can access the feature by first clicking the Communication button from the Menu Bar and then click the Send E-mail link.

Email Recepient Options
Once you have opened email tool, you will see the options listed from the whole class to the individuals:

Sending Email to All
If you are sending an email to All Users, All Groups, All Students Users, All Teaching Assistant Users, or All Instructor Users, Once you click the option, you will see Email Information Windows immediately.
- Enter name in the subject field
- Enter Message in the Message box as you would do in other regular email

- Click "Add" if you want to attach a document
- Cllck Submit

Note: All emails sent out of Blackboard course will pre-fix with course number.
Sending Email to Individuals
If you choose sending an email to Individual selected users or groups, you will need to seelct the individuals from the available class list and transfer to the selected list. before sending out the email.

- Enter name in the subject field
- Enter Message in the Message box as you would do in other regular email
- Click "Add" if you want to attach a document
- Cllck Submit
